A Prospective shift on grift

We often complain about how painful it is to die on a hospital bed, or how heartbreaking it is for a family to hold a loved one as they pass away. We think of how difficult it is to burn or bury someone with our own hands.

But after seeing the devastation of floods, earthquakes, and storms—where lives are swept away, bodies are never found, and final goodbyes are stolen—I realized something new.

Those who get to say goodbye are the fortunate ones. To die peacefully, and to be laid to rest by those who love you, is a profound blessing.
